One of the most common questions our skin therapists hear is how often someone should book a facial. The general guideline is every four to six weeks — but the ideal frequency really depends on your skin type, your concerns and the kind of treatment you're having.
Here's how to find the right rhythm for your skin.
Why four to six weeks?
Your skin completes a natural renewal cycle roughly every 28 days, slowing with age. Booking a facial every four to six weeks works with that cycle, keeping skin consistently clear, hydrated and glowing rather than fixing problems after they appear.
Oily and acne-prone skin
If you're prone to congestion or breakouts, more regular facials — every three to four weeks — can help keep pores clear and oil balanced, especially alongside a good home routine.
Dry and mature skin
Dry or mature skin benefits from regular hydrating and nourishing facials every four to six weeks to support the moisture barrier and maintain a plump, radiant look.
Sensitive skin
Sensitive skin does best with gentle, calming facials on a slightly longer cycle, giving the skin time to settle between treatments. Your therapist will advise the safest spacing.
Before a big event
For weddings and special occasions, have your final facial about two weeks before, after building up your skin with a few sessions in the months prior.
